I get comments such as this:

“Oh, you’re so happy. Labs are so effortless to train.”

Or this:

“Ace is really easy. My dog would not do that.”

These comments do not piss me down, but they make me find that all my hours at work (like, literally thousands for hours) with _ web mean nothing.

These opinions imply my doggy is obedient simply because he has a Lab combination or an “easy” dog.

Have any one you experienced anything at all like this with the style of dog you own?

For illustration, maybe you have a boundary collie, and someone claimed something like, “Oh, agility must be really easy for you.”

Ugh, frustrating, right?

How to Urine Off A Golden Retriever Owner

The blog Something Wagging This Way Comes, written by Pamela together with her dog Sugar, had such an intriguing post on this matter. You can read the whole blog post here.

From Something Wagging:

It occured again.

With a hand indication, I asked Honey for you to lie down on the ground quietly. The person I was talking to said?the one thing bound to piss off a good golden retriever owner: “Aww, aren’t goldens fantastic? My dog could not do that.”

Arggghhhhhhh!

Have any of people experienced anything in this way?

As a Labrador master, I am actually troubled for all the Labradors together with golden retrievers out there faced with such high anticipation. I’ve written about this specific here.

These breeds tend to be spoken so hugely of that people essentially believe retrievers?are immediately friendly, sociable, obedient and mild.

They’re often recommended while first dogs or as good dogs to get families with young people because they’re “so great.”

But, whilst you all know, retrievers are far away from perfect!

Retrievers are often large energy. They’re usually formidable and exuberant.

They generally like to jump on people, and to grab or simply carry things in their mouths.

They typically prefer to dive head initial into open drinking water.

They’re known as chewers, especially since puppies.

Ever had a senior jump up and also slam into your upper body? I have. It’s not interesting.

My Lab mix broken me flat in my small back one time in search of his ball. I think I even cried. My puppy didn’t even notice he hit me!

And automatically friendly? Not necessarily consequently.

There’s this golden inside our apartment complex, as well as for a lack of a better period, that dog is real A-hole! He’s walked on a retractable teather, and whenever the guy sees us, the guy lunges and growls with Ace. We actually tale about him sometimes, like, “Oh, God, listed here comes that asshole again.”

I’m sure he’s got really sweet whenever he’s not around different pets, as most reactive dogs are. But the position is C gasp! C golden retrievers is often reactive too, just like any kind.

And one more thing … my canine IS easy!

In all honesty, my dog Is simple.

He IS easy to train. This individual picks up on new methods almost immediately.

He’s treat, compliments and toy motivated, almost within equal amounts.

If I actually ask him to sit, doesn’t necessarily even cross her mind to ignore everyone. He sits, after which you can gazes up at everyone, like, “I’m a good man, right?”

But Ace will not act this way since he’s a Research laboratory. He acts like this for all sorts of explanations like his particular person personality, a good upbringing, lots of love and use and socialization and of course hours of training above many years.

He’s 9 years outdated now, and we even now train every single day because doing so helps my doggy and I be the best workforce we can be.

We relate. We trust eath other. We have fun!

That’s just what exactly dog training is all about personally. That’s what owning as well as loving any type of puppy means to me. Type has very little concerning anything.

How about you fellas?

Have any of you ever gotten similar comments regarding dog’s breed? Just what does training and working along with your dog mean to you personally?
